This project helps students apply the chemistry terms they are learning to something they care deeply about - food! This activity asks students to apply vocabulary terms such as heterogeneous, homogeneous, compound, solution, suspension, and mixture to describe food items in a menu. I have used this activity as an assessment at the end of a unit and as practice within the unit of study. Students enjoy being creative with their menu's and I get to see how well they understand the vocabulary terms. Win-Win!
