Directions: Students will have fun creating these Kite Contractions!
First, print a copy of the attached sheet for each student. Inside the diamond shape, students will write 4 sentences each containing a contraction. When they are finished, they will write their contractions used on the kite bow. For example, if they wrote the sentence, “She’ll go to the birthday party this weekend.” On the left side of the bow they would put the contraction “she’ll and on the right side of the bow they would put the two words that make up that contraction “she will”. They can color their kites when they are finished and attach the bows with a colorful piece of yarn. Would be a great display for a bulletin board, or to hang in the hall.
