This is a fantastic higher level thinking on-going task to help students closely read a The Kite Runner and make use of annotations later in their final essay (optional). This reading activity not only prompts students to analyze, but requires them to thoughtfully explain the significance of quotes they annotate.
Includes Directions page, Sentence Starters for Analysis, Topics page, Template, and example. Students chose 2 topics that interest them from the Topics page and annotate evidence of those topics as they read. One of the topics they selected will be chosen later as essay topic. Annotations and evidence collected while reading will be used as supporting evidence (quotations) in essay.
