Write the Room is a differentiated phonics, writing, and spelling activity to include in your classroom literacy centers. Students search the room for the 12 beginning Kn digraph pictures and then write or trace the words on one of the response sheets. The activity can be easily differentiated by choosing among the three response sheets
. There is an extension page for writing sentences with Kn digraph words and drawing a picture.
Kids love to use clipboards and pencils when they circulate the room to find the cards. An alternate strategy is to keep the cards in a basket and use them as task cards for the same consonant digraph writing activities.
Included in the Kn Digraph
Write the Room resource are:
• 12 cards in both color and blackline with word labels
• 3 response/recording sheets
• extension page to write original sentences and illustrate
• answer card
Kn Digraph picture cards in this item are: knapsack, knead, knee, kneel, knife, knight, knit, knob, knock, knoll, knot, knotholes
