This printer-friendly activity packet is part of a series to make speech therapy activities for the gamers on your caseloads.
This packet contains 45 worksheets, with pages for /p, b, m, f, v, θ/ð, t, d, n, s, z, ɹ, l, ʃ, tʃ, dʒ, k, ɡ, ŋ, h, j, w/. Each page contains real CV(V)C words that either start or end with one of the above target sounds. These sheets are a great way to introduce new sounds to preschoolers and school-aged clients alike.
These sheets can be used for word, phrase and sentence level practice. Clients can either read out/imitate one word at a time or several target words in a row, say their word in a carrier phrase (e.g. “I pick ____”), or make up a sentence using their chosen word(s).
This download also includes alternate ways to play and homework suggestions.
How to Play
1. Select a worksheet based on your client’s current articulation goal.
2. Have the client select a word or a whole block to say.
3. After a successful production, give your client a block to add to their tower. (For younger clients, I prefer to use Lego™ or Bristol Blocks© because they are harder to accidently knock over. With older students, any blocks will do).
4. Once the tower is complete, knock it down using balls or ball poppers! Clients have to say a target word before each shot!
