This is a great multisensory lesson based on the principles of Orton Gillingham. The focus is r-controlled / bossy "ur." There are numerous activities in this packet to support understanding of r-controlled words. R-Controlled/Bossy R (both terms are used interchangeably) include: ar, er, ir, or. The R "bosses" the vowel around, causing the vowel to sound different. The R comes after the vowel (this helps students with spelling).
The multisensory lessons included in the packet include:

Students with memory, visualization and processing challenges will find this activity frustrating. However, other students love word searches, so it is available for students who enjoy word searches only.
