This is a 58 page PDF multisensory phonemic awareness resource. The focus and activities are to develop understanding of all short vowel sounds - a, e, i, o, and u. Each short vowel has at least three skill-building activities so students have a variety of opportunities to isolate specific short vowels sounds.
Additionally, there is an short vowel word sort activity, using pictures only, to support student understanding of the short vowels. Students can complete this sorting activity as part of a literacy center activity, in small group or one-to-one with an adult. If possible, laminate the picture cards so students can reuse the activity.
Each short vowel includes a paddle for added variety of student interaction, and colored chips so students can touch chips for each sound within a word. This is very supportive for students developing phonemic awareness.
Please see the specific pages highlighted to ensure the activities included are what you need.
