In this station students will sort between addition and subtraction facts. They must sort through the problems and put it into the column it belongs, addition or subtraction. All you have to do is cut up and laminate the cards, then you have a fact fluency center for the rest of the year.
After giving students a diagnostic test we saw a pattern of many students not passing the level of basic addition and subtraction because they switched up the addition and subtraction sign. So as a quick review we created a station where they can go back and practice noticing the difference in signs. We also led conversations about how to take your time when doing problems and making sure you go back to check that you did the right thing.
