We are all about integration in my STEM building and blending famous math problems with STEM challenges is a great way to make the people and concepts we study in math more engaging and interesting for the students. You can find additional information about Euler and the Konigsberg Bridge challenge on-line. I am currently working on developing more of these math-based STEM challenges.
This engineering challenge activity is one of many that I have created to use in my classroom! I do these and other STEM challenges as a whole class activity every Friday. Students always look forward to doing these challenges, whether they are based on social studies, science, math, or language arts. You could also use these as an at-home project, a center activity, or a monthly school-wide activity. Depending on the materials, I store everything in a dollar store gift bag or plastic tub!
