This bundle featuring 's', 'l', and 'r' clusters breaks down the complex cluster into smaller, manageable parts so that the child

Description

Do you have children on your caseload who find it really hard to sequence 'l' clusters, or delete either the first or second part of their cluster? Have you tried all of your tricks, but your student is still having difficulties saying their 'l' clusters? The ‘L’ Clusters Help Sheets resource uses different multisensory cues that break down how to say ‘l’ clusters using metaphors, visual cues, and backward chaining.

DOWNLOAD THIS RESOURCE IF YOU WANT TO:

  • need cues to break down a complex word ('l' cluster) into smaller, manageable parts.
  • have tried different types of cues, and nothing has helped “click”.
  • have used cycles or the minimal pairs approach to target ‘l’ clusters and found that your child STILL reduces part of the cluster.
  • your student has motor planning challenges (e.g., Childhood Apraxia of Speech) and requires specific cueing and support to sequence clusters.

There are three different sheets for each ‘l’ cluster:
❶ -- Backward chaining (e.g., lock, lock, lock, block)
❷ -- Forward chaining (e.g., ffffff-lake, flake) )
❸ -- Flashcards with visual cues

Multisensory Cueing:

We know that children learn differently, and these 'L' Clusters Help Sheets give you multiple options for teaching ‘l’ clusters. Teach your child that they have to use their "b" sound when they see the ball visual, or a "f" sound when they see a fire picture. You might like to tap or trace with your finger to reinforce the continual airflow and need to join the first sound to the rest of the word. This helps the child break down the word into smaller, manageable speech units to help the child to “hear” the individual sounds or syllables of the ‘l’ cluster word.

WHAT SLP'S ARE SAYING:

❝ I ABSOLUTELY love this. I love the visuals that are on it. Kids seem to really understand it. Easy for homework too.❞

❝ This resource really "clicks" with my students. I often break up sounds in clusters like this verbally but it's so nice to be able to show a visual and have the parents point to each part of the word in teletherapy❞

❝ This resource is so helpful! My students really benefit from the picture visuals to mark both sounds in blends. I love using this resource in therapy and sending it home for carryover❞
