This unit is filled with items that will enhance your letter studies,
everything from fun games, “Write the Room”, pocket chart activities, as well things to use for centers all with a fun lion and letter L theme!
In this packet you will find 3 different sets of write the room cards, all things that begin with the letter L. You can find and use the one that best fits your needs. You may still find uses for the other sets, for word walls, vocabulary words, pocket chart activities. You will also find a “word bank” with the words. If you put those in page protectors and inside a folder (the version with the brads for holding hole punched pages), you have an “on the go” mini word wall for independent writing or another center!
You will find several different pocket chart activities that can also be used as center activities. One has students matching upper to lower case letters. Another pocket chart activity is matching CVC words to their pictures, in cute lion frames. There is a circle time game to help the lion find /l/ words. Also included are lion themed word building CVC mats with medial /i/ words. Also, there are lions (you attach to a popsicle stick) to use for word stretching, counting sounds in words, sounding out and writing CVC words with dry erase boards, or even as story starters! You will find Quiz, Quiz, Trade cards (and directions for doing this game), I Have Who Has (with L words), Graphic Organizers, writing paper with and without prompts. You will also find 3 different types of Write the Room answer sheets, worksheets for identifying objects with the beginning sound of /l/, and writing L practice sheets.
