Power point is a review lesson for how to use context clues. You could also use it as an introductory lesson. Tier 2 vocabulary words from Charlotte's Web were used. 17 slides.
My students loved this presentation - it was engaging, they loved the (simple, on the click) animation, and it worked well with my students who get distracted easily.
The slides have the think out loud portion written right on the slide and use colored lines & circles to draw students attention to the clues.
It can take about 10-15 minutes to get through the entire presentation, with 3 minutes closing to share or reflect. I attached the original power point so you could add to it as needed. :)
Standard: L3.4a Use sentence-level context as a clue to the meaning of a word or phrase.
Objective: We will determine the meaning of a word by looking for clue words in a sentence.
