PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This product aligns with L.6.4a, It is also appropriate for Grade 5 students and aligns with L.5.4a. The product contains 2 worksheets.
Each sheet is two pages, and has 5 examples for students to work through. The product is perfect for morning work, remediation, assessment, or reinforcement.

Directions for both sheets:

Read each paragraph. Think about what the underlined word probably means, and write your guess on the line. Then use a dictionary to find the actual meaning. Use the underlined word in a new sentence.

Sample from one of the sheets:

Most of the students in Jill’s graduating class have been unemployed for the past six months and those who do have jobs are not working in their desired field. Jill has had a job since graduation. Her uncle has an accounting firm and she was hired and trained as an auditor and bookkeeper. Soon she’ll be taking her CPA exam to be a licensed and certified accountant. Jill’s friends are happy she has a job, but have said that her hiring is a direct example of nepotism. [this word is underlined on the worksheet]
