Page 33-34: Measure the animal centre. I use plastic figurines and have students measure and record their length. Don't have plastic figurines? No problem. Do the next activity instead as it includes printed animals.
Page 35-40: Measure the animals. In my classroom, I hide these animals all around the room and have students search for them and measure them with a ruler.
Page 41: Open ended measure and compare activity. Students draw object and record the measurement.
Page 42-43: Activity Centre prompts. I set out buckets and scoops and allow students to fill them with sand and water.
Page 44: Compare the length of paper activity.

Page 61-66: Number cards and bear cards. I set these cards out next to a scale and have students compare what happens when they place the weight of two different number of bears on each side. OR You can also use these cards as a memory game (match the number to the bears). OR 2 PLAYER GAME: Put cards face down on the table next to the balance. Each player is has one side of the balance to fill. Each player turns over a card and adds that number to the scale. The winner is the one whose side of the scale is the heaviest. Great way to practice addition too!
