Sometimes students have a hard time applying their knowledge of the GCF and LCM to a real world situation. I noticed that my students could easily solve for the GCF and LCM when they are told WHAT to solve for, but when a real-world situation came around, they didn't know when or which one to use. I wanted to make math meaningful beyond the test, hence the creation of these task cards & sort!
In this set, there are now 20 word problems
of GCF and LCM situations. Students will need to read through the problems and first decide if they represent a GCF or LCM scenario. Included are two printable page banners with headings of LCM and GCF. These work great as the first day to get students thinking about the difference between LCM & GCF. Next, students will need to solve for the quantity.
These task cards are great for centers, small groups, whole class, resource, extra practice, review, and much more! Just print and laminate to reuse year after year!
