Description of the Program
LEAPS (Learning Early Academic/Prerequisite Skills) is a preschool and kindergarten program for general education and special education students. The goal of the program is to help prepare your child for academic success. The focus of LEAPS is to expose children to early literacy, math, writing, and social interactions with peers. Your child will be exposed to fun, interactive, hands-on skill building readiness and social skill activities during your child’s school day. These activities will be carried out in small groups for approximately 15-20 minutes once per week.
LEAPS Lesson Plans for the Letter A specifies materials needed to teach the first lesson in the LEAPS program. Please check out other LEAPS freebies such as the Introductory Letter, Take Home Bag for the home component to the LEAPS program, and the first parent letter that is sent home following this lesson.
