LEGO CENTERS building numbers 1 to 10
The center allows students of varying abilities to work together.
Begin with a simple and manageable grouping strategy that is highly structured.
Introduce a rotation system that sequences the order of required centers
and gradually build in free choice centers as students develop self-management skills.
***Students will use the ten frame to determine how many more Legos are needed to make 10. They will record the answer on the worksheet.
(Write the room activity or just independent station)
***Students COUNT ON by choosing a lego card, writing the number on the lego and then writing the two numbers that come next.
***Students practice representing numbers from 1 to 10 using ten frames.
***Students will count the Legos on the ten frame, find the matching number or write the number. (I used neon colors cardstock for the number cards)
***Students walk around the room to find the Lego cards, they count and then find the matching letter on their recording sheet.(Write the room activity or just independent station)
***Students will identify the number, count and build a tower to represent each number on the Lego Mat. (included two Lego Mats to play with a partner)
