Product Description
☼ LES HABITATS ☼ Study HABITATS, ECOSYSTEMS, FOOD CHAINS and FOOD WEBS with these colour cards!

Includes the following habitats;

☼ POLAIRE
☼ DÉSERT
☼ OCÉAN
☼ TERRES HUMIDES
☼ FORÊT TROPICALE

• A great addition to your science centers! This is a fun way to kick-start your unit and see what students know about habitats! Use it throughout your unit as an assessment tool as well. Students will need to research the animals, plants and insects included in order to determine which are primary, secondary and tertiary consumers as well as the producers and decomposers in each habitat. Abiotic factor cards (sun, temperature, ice, clouds, wind, water, etc.) should also be included in their food chains and webs.

• Place the cards in a line to make a food chain
• Create food webs
• Abiotic and Biotic Factors for each habitat are included
• Study predator / prey relationships
• Examples of consumers, producers and decomposers
• Also includes examples of human activity for studying our impact on each habitat
• Test knowledge and understanding by creating scenarios where one or more links in a food chain or web are removed. Students can discuss the answers and/or copy the scenario they create into their science journal.
• Also a great 'write the room' activity. The background of each card should help make this task fairly simple. I like to start the unit with this activity for this reason - it piques student interest and they can complete the task successfully↓↓↓

☼ Each habitat has its own title page and header for creating displays and/or organizing the cards in folders or bags.
☼ Each habitat has 30-32 cards that can be printed as they are (4 per page) or smaller by adjusting your printer settings to 'multiple'.
☼ Laminate the cards for extended classroom use.

HINT: Attach magnetic tape to the back of the cards so students can place them onto a whiteboard and then draw the arrows they need to make their food webs.
This activity could also be done on large (chart) paper with markers to draw the arrows.
