Do you get excited about changing your bulletin boards every six weeks or so? Not me. I have better things to do. Life is busy these days if you are a teacher. If you’re busy too, this product will help. Put it up once and you’re finished. This bulletin board has a purpose. Students will interact with it all year.
Middle School students love their cell phones, their computer games, and their social media. How do you get them to read novels? Well, this product isn’t a cure-all. If I ever discover a cure-all, I’ll place it on TPT.) I’ll let you know). For now, “Let’s Read!”—A Year-Long Educational Incentive product will help. The interactive bulletin board allows the students to track their reading. Although it would be nice if all students had intrinsic value in their reading, but I taught inner city and suburb middle schools for many years, and it didn’t take long to conform to extrinsic motivation to get them to read, in the hopes that eventually this turned into intrinsic value for reading.
Another problem is the other end of the year. Yes, when your team needs an activity to close out the year. Something special! Something that your class will be known for over the years. How about an auction? They read their novels all year. They track their reading on the interactive bulletin board, and now it’s fun time. A time when you say “Congratulations!” All the necessary materials are there for you. I’ve perfected this product over 15 years. All the kinks are worked out.
So this product solves problems:
Saves time on your bulletin board
Makes students accountable and motivated to read
Solves that end-of-year activity
After 15 years I still say, “That was one of the best ideas I had.” Give it a try.
Thanks and have a good year.
