I wrote this play especially for middle and high school students. It is my 20th year writing and directing plays of this type. LETTERS FROM THE HOMEFRONT is a comedy that takes place during WW II when some 12 year old girls decide to help the war efforts by writing letters to sailors using their sister's names and photos. CHAOS breaks loose when they are discovered -only because the young men start coming home on leave. In the meantime, the Ellison family set the stage for lots of fun characters including grandma and grandpa, an aunt, cousin, five kids, and a fiancé no one likes. Enter Roger the photographer and operation dis-engagement begins. We just put this play on this summer and this packet includes the play and all sorts of ideas for your production. You can even get a copy of the DVD of our production. Lots of touches of history included and the ending takes on a patriotic mood. I produce this as a two-week SUMMER drama workshop, but it could easily be a school play for the semester. We just put this on in 2015, and the audiences said WOW - my best!!
