These cards have a fun theme, but they are still useful for teaching parts of speech. Creating silly sentences will have the children laughing and engaging in the activity.
Making Silly Sentences
Choose one adjective, one noun, and one verb and read them out loud. Adding the word “The” at the beginning will help it to make more sense.
There are 12 adjectives, 12 nouns, and 12 verbs. Record the words on the sheets by matching the numbers. A black and white version is included.
After matching them up with the numbers, mix them up and come up with some other silly sentences.
I have included some pages for writing silly sentences. Choose one card from each category and place it in the space provided. Write the sentence on the line below. Don’t forget to start with “The”. Choose one sentence to illustrate after writing the sentences. There is room to create 4 different sentences. A blank sheet has also been included.
I have also added some other extensions that can be used with the material.
