Graphing the Natural Logarithm
The more students interact with this concept, the more comfortable they will be when they encounter questions about the natural logarithm on assessments.
This resource includes
12 graphs involving the natural logarithm of x
12 matching equations for the graphs
two different response sheets
What else can you do with the card set?
Try these ideas!
Pass out all the cards randomly to students. Challenge them to find their ‘match.’
Put the cards on a bulletin board and challenge students to find the matches. Use yarn or string )tied to thumbtacks) to ‘draw lines’ between matches.
Between classes (when students aren’t in the room) change one or two and challenge them to find the wrong connection.
Project the graphs and ask students to write the equations.
Give students an asymptote and a point and ask them to find or identify one of the graphs that has this attributes.
