I had problems getting "my head wrapped around this" piece of information since I have been teaching Louisiana history for over 30 years. I have been telling student there were 7 major cities un Louisiana since that’s what the text states, I always added one more but when I did this puzzle and put together the census figures.
WOW! Was I ever wrong? Even my own town in Southwest Louisiana ranked 14th. The local 'ranked' town came in at #5, just behind Lafayette. And this is all based off the current 2017 census.
Guess my teaching is all wrong now. Most of the changes come from hurricane movement but the top 39 numbers just 'floored' me.
This puzzle features all the towns around Louisiana that have populations of over 10,000 people. Enjoy.
