I have always been a big fan of historical dates and have amassed hundreds of them and birthdates over the years for my own class. I would pass them out, one per student then have them research and write a brief bio on the person (200-500 words). It always seemed to work because they never knew who they would get but always told them NO WIKIPEDIA.ORG. I know I used them but only to get names, then I researched them to get additional info.
There are over 365 people here but there are hundreds of people I could not add due to someone beating them to the list. This list took weeks and months of research to complete and double and triple check.
This TPT project started out as a "simple" item which turned harder and harder. It started as a 'historical' figures project which turned to 'famous' people which turned to 'regular people which turned to….
It started as research of the textbook which turned to other Louisiana sources which turned to websites which turned to specialized websites which turned to….
Days turned to weeks which turned to months which ultimately turned to years……
The closer I got to the finish line the harder and harder it got. Finding that right person with the right birthday got very hard and my research became much slower. Dates became covered by figures that I wanted but not figures I found later. I had to add a few extra dates/cards as I went along. Any errors you find should be sent to me at firstname.lastname@example.org so that I may fix them.
But over the months of research I found these pages to look at:
9. And dozens of other sources just to find names for the 360+ birthdays
There is a page of blanks for other people you might want to use.
