These cards can be used to review food vocabulary. I have included 56 different items to that it can be used with any textbook. Use the ones you want, discard the rests. You can play multiple games with this deck. I have included directions for 2 games that students can play.
Rummy- This is the classic game in which students are creating sets or groups using foods instead of suits and numbers in a deck. Students are dealt 7 cards each. There is a discard pile and the regular deck. Students draw1 card from the deck to create sets of foods (breakfast, lunch, dinner, fruits, drinks, vegetables.) If they do not need the card it is placed in the discard pile. Play continues on until a player has a set/group of 1 category or 2 sets from the categories of food.
In this game, students are trying to match up the vocabulary word in Spanish to the picture it represents. For example, if students have a picture card, they must ask another player for the Spanish equivalent of the word. If they have word card in Spanish, they must as if other players have to word in English. This game forces students recall their vocabulary while having loads of fun.
A card back has been included for you to use behind the game deck
Just laminate your cards on cardstock and they will last you a long time.
