This activity involves reading about Maria's family and then answering questions in complete Spanish sentences about the reading. In the reading Maria's family is described. Topics include name, age, where they are from, descriptions with ser and adjectives, family member name (brother/aunt etc) likes and dislikes, profession and there are a few prepositions such as "we live in a house close to the park". I have my students read the paragraph with a partner and then they have to answer the questions related to the reading in complete Spanish sentences. There are questions in Spanish such as, "How many people are in Maria's family?" and, "Where do Maria's grandparents live?" After the students have answered all of their questions we go over the answers as a class to improve their sentence building skills.
