Tape these cards to student desks for quick & flexible grouping strategies!
These cards build on the "Monkey Group" concept, but using locations in the French-speaking world as their basis. Each card features a different city or island in a Francophone country or region. Grouping cards can also act as a jumping-off point for discussing different Francophone parts of the world, or assigning collaborative culture-based projects. There are 36 unique cards in one classroom set.
Students can work in pairs with their City partner (e.g. the 2 students with "Paris" cards work together), or groups of 3 by the color listed en français and shown on their card.
Grouping by country* or region provides groups of 4, while grouping by continent provides large groups of 8 for most students.**
*Students with "en Belgique" and "en Suisse" cards will work together as a single country/region group, as will students with "au Laos" and "au Vietnam" cards.
** Because of the total number of cards, students with "L'Asie" as their continent will have a continent group of 4; you may want to distribute these students among your other continent groups to form groups of 9.
