This project includes questions for students to answer while watching the movie La Misma Luna and a prompt to write a short essay in Spanish using the movie as a basis for critical thinking on immigration. A second activity includes vocabulary and discussion questions that will encourage students to use Spanish to communicate in a group setting about the movie and the theme of immigration. There is also a rubric for group leaders to use to grade their peers on participation and usage of Spanish. This project encourages students to use the language in an authentic and fun way that will enrich any beginning or intermediate Spanish class.
The movie is not included. You can show the movie in the class, show clip highlights or have students watch it at home and use this pack during two - three class periods. I usually set a timer and have the students talk about each question for five full minutes before letting them move on to the next.
