In order to reinforce the questions: ¿Qué es? and ¿Qué tiene puesto?, I have created a PPT presentation about clothing to help the students use the question and respond based on the information they are presented with.
What are the students doing during the presentation?
1. They are seeing an item of clothing on the screen. The question pops up ¿Qué es? or ¿Qué son?
2. They respond to the question based on the item of clothing they see and once you are satisfied with the response another text pops up confirming their answer. (Sí, es una camiseta.)
3. Next, a question pops up asking if it is appropriate to wear said clothing item for one of 3 different scenarios: (a) weather or season, (b) going to a place, or (c) participating in an activity. ex) ¿Tiene puesto una camiseta cuando hace calor?
4. Next the students respond to the question and once you are satisfied with the response, the next advance will reveal a text box with the most appropriate answer.
ex) Sí, tiene puesto una camiseta cuando hace calor.
There are 20 of these slides reinforcing: clothing, weather, seasons, places, events, and activities.
Following the 20 slides are 6 slides that feature a suitcase that has a number of clothing related items. The question here is ¿Qué hay en la maleta? I have choosen 4 items for each picture and the answers float in one at a time to reinforce the items that the students are seeing in the picture.
Lastly, there is a reinforcement/follow-up writing activity that the students can complete. It asks them to:
Talk about a vacation that a friend is planning. Based on the weather and climate of the destination what items will be necessary to pack. Also consider the activities that may be fun to participate in while visiting that place.
