These can be used with any French beginners, from 3rd grade to middle school. My grade 5-6 Core French students have enjoyed playing Dominoes as a treat. These are good to keep in your substitute file and could also be fun for big/little buddies in a French Immersion school?? Clear instructions with a picture example of the dominoes game layout are included.
How to play? Match the picture on the end of one card to the word it represents on the end of another card. This game links a visual cue to words which helps with comprehension and memorization.
These 6 pages make one set of cards for dominoes to use with one group of 3-4 students. Copy multiple sets onto card stock for the number of groups in your class. Cut apart on the wider lines.
You can use these cards like a set of playing cards too. Copy the doubles page (where the word and picture match) x4 to make one deck. I try to use card games where speaking is integral to the rules of the game.
A picture dictionary/reference handout and 12 word wall flash cards are also included. There are two cards per 8.5x11" sized page. Simply print onto card stock and cut in half.
You can easily print out the domino pages in "greyscale" aka black and white and photocopy onto card stock from there. You can also just photocopy the pages in black and white from the color masters. Just start with a high quality master print for best results.
