This is project-based learning that comes at just the right time! The days before Easter (and, of course, Spring Break) are some of the craziest of the year. This project reigns them back in and teaches culture in a fun, student directed way.
Students will choose (either by themselves or with a partner) a country to focus on, and they will also choose the digital format in which they will present the information they find in their research, such as Prezi, Glogster, or the trusty 'ol Powerpoint.
This packet includes:
-Student instructions and checklist
-List of countries for students to sign up
-LCD projector and laptop
-Any technology NOT supported by the school’s equipment will need to be provided by the student (for example, a Prezi may need to be downloaded in advance, or a student may need to bring their own laptop)
-Two days media center
-One-two days presenting
-The rest of the class will write down (for each presentation) on their own paper:
1. The name of the country being presented
2. One interesting fact about the country
3. One interesting fact about Easter traditions in that country
-This counts on their own project grade on the rubric. Good listening skills are just as important as good presenting skills!
