This powerpoint explores the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior. Within the slides, students are asked to conjugate in the preterite tense. At the end, students review the future tense and write their own "Yo Tengo un Sueño" speeches. I had my students write three drafts and on the final draft they recorded themselves using www.vocaroo.com. We then printed out the QR codes and made a bulletin board with the kids' pictures and their QR code. When someone wants to hear their speech, they simply have to scan the code! The kids loved hearing themselves speaking Spanish and listening to one another.
The powerpoint can be modified for novice learners by incorporating the present tense and ir + a + infinitive for the speeches.
