'La boda de la ratoncita' is a legend from the Cho'l Indians of Chiapas, México, which we've adapted and simplified to make it more accessible to students in Middle and High school. It tells the tale of a family of mice who set out to find the most powerful being in the world to marry their daughter, only to find that after talking to the Sun, Cloud, Wind, and Wall, that a mouse is the most powerful after all. The action is told in the simple past tense, with present tense used in the captions, and the story has a series of pattern sentences as asks the same question of each character they speak with, making the storyline ideal for language learning.
