Handout in PDF format contains quotes of several characters in the play "La casa de Bernarda Alba." Students need to make connections to the character's personality to better recall who said the quote.
I like to use this handout as a closing activity after reading the play. If time permits, then I have the students search for more quotes from the play and ask the class who said it. Each student selects a quote and then asks the class "¿quién lo dijo?" Key is provided.
I was lucky to find in the Dollar Store black fans which reminded me of the first scene of the play when it's hot and all the characters are using fans. I purchased a classroom set and had students use the fan while we read the play aloud. Great activity for those students who like to fidget.
As a closing activity for my Spanish unit, I explained to the students how in the old days girls used their fans to communicate with the guys. There's a nice you Tube video that demonstrate the use of the fan as a communication tool.
