This is a group project that I assign to my students when we are discussing home vocabulary and writing descriptive sentences with ser and tener. (I use it with McGraw Hill's Asi se dice Capitulo 2).
To complete the project, students work with a partner to create a series of pictures (interior and exterior) of a dream home to demonstrate ability to describe parts of a house. The pictures can be done on a poster, series of papers in a neat folder/binder, or in a Slides presentation. I usually get students who do Prezis or Slides presentations, but I have had a few who have decided to make a blueprint design. I encourage them to do whatever they enjoy the most. There are specific requirements outlined in the document you purchase.
In the second portion of the assignment, the pairs become realtors and present their dream home to the class in a presentation IN SPANISH of between 2 and 5 minutes. Students are instructed to make sure both partners have equal speaking
roles. There are other specific requirements outlined in the document. After all presentations, the class will vote on which house they would like to buy. The winning house gets bonus (students cannot vote for their own).
I have also included rubrics for both portions of the assignment. This was worth quite a bit in my class, and most students did not disappoint. It was a fun way for the students to apply and practice what they've learned.
