PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Students use a burning cracker to heat a small amount of water. Using the mass change of the burned cracker and the temperature change of the water, the cracker's calories can be calculated.

This lab walks the students through the process step by step and includes questions about thermodynamics and cellular respiration.

This has been used in a unit about photosynthesis and respiration including energy and matter.
