This lab report results/conclusion activity packet is designed to have 6 different parts and teachers can use 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or all 6 parts, depending on the learning needs of their students. Some students need extra practice and reinforcement to help them remember how to make a good lab report!

Lesson Contents:
Cover Page
Page 1: Elements of a Results Section: A reading that points out the important and necessary parts of a results section. It is mentioned here that each lab might also include graphs or diagrams, which aren’t covered on this page.
Page 2: Elements of a Conclusions Section: A reading that points out the important and necessary parts of a results section.
Page 3: Sample Calculations Examples: This page shows students step by step how to calculate standard deviations and how to show their work in their sample calculations section.
Pages 4-6: Conclusion Cut and Paste Activity: Students are given a mixed up conclusion (with 4 separate parts) and put them in a logical order on their pasting page. (Answer key included)
Pages 7-8: Dissect a Conclusion: Students highlight different portions of the lab report according to the 4 parts discussed in their “Elements” page. This activity is pretty basic (they just highlight the paragraphs) but I included it so that you can show them an example of a slightly more complicated Conclusion section. (Answer key included)
Pages 9-13: Write the Missing Calculations/Conclusion: A procedure and results are given, but students fill in calculations and conclusions on additional pages. (Sample answers included)
Page 14: Write a Conclusion Template – Students can create their own conclusion based on their own experiment.
Page 15: Half Page Checklist students can use to check their own results section and their conclusion section for the important components.
