This bar graph activity is designed to have 6 different parts and teachers can use 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 parts, depending on the learning needs of their students. Some students need extra practice and reinforcement to help them remember how to make a good bar graph!

Lesson Contents:
Part 1: Elements of a Bar Graph: A reading that points out the important and necessary parts of a bar graph.
Part 2: Cut-and-Paste Activity that can help reinforce the parts of a bar graph.
Part 3: Interpret a Bar Graph – Students examine a scientific bar graph and answer questions about it.
Part 4: Fix a Bar Graph! – Students examine a poorly written bar graph and write at least three things that are wrong with it.
Part 5: Create a Bar Graph– Students create their own bar graph.
Part 6: Half Page Checklist students can use to check their own bar graphs for the important components.

Answer keys for Parts 2-5 are included!
