My Lab Resource Bundle combines four easy to follow science labs/ reports that follow the steps of the Scientific Method. It also includes a blank lab report that follows the same format and a grading rubric. These labs are perfect for students who are just learning about the Scientific Method and need a scaffold before being able to do labs independently. Portions of the labs are prefilled to prevent a lot of tedious writing. Each lab begins with the problem stated in the form of a question. Students then gather information about their materials and write what they observe. Next they write their hypothesis. The materials and lab steps are already completed. Students collect data during their lab and record it on the premade table. They analyze it by filling in a bar graph and then write their conclusion. Labs included in this bundle are as follows: “The Bubble Gum Lab,” where students are challenged to see what brand of bubble gum will blow the largest bubble. In my “Buoyancy Lab” they need to find out how many pennies a foil boat can hold. “To Bounce or Not to Bounce” investigates potential energy with a bouncy ball. Finally, “The Rubber Band Lab” tests potential energy with one of their favorites, rubber bands. All of these labs are manageable for learning support students. The easy to follow format and small number of materials are great for teachers with tight budgets who are pressed for time!
