Your students can memorize all of the lab safety rules that you want them to, but how about switching it up?
Students will be presented with 16 scenarios that could potentially happen in any classroom, each with a disaster. Your students have to determine what went wrong, and what rules needed to be followed.
I've included this as a worksheet with the 16 scenarios and as separate cards that can be randomly distributed to individual/small-group settings. Another potential use is to choose one at the beginning or end of each class for the first 2 weeks, and have the class discuss it or do it as a warm up or exit ticket.
Please review the "preview" file to make sure your students are an appropriate emotional maturity to use these cards.
I have included an Answer Key with suggested solutions. Some may have more than one interpretation/answer. Your students may even come up with others!
