This fun and engaging activity will get your students up and moving as they review and become acquainted with important lab safety equipment found in the science classroom.
This resource includes 10 QR codes that each contain information about a piece of equipment found in most science classrooms. Each QR code contains a clue to help students find the next piece of equipment. It is designed so that students can start on any question, which allows groups to start on a question other than 1.
This activity discusses the following lab safety and science equipment pieces found in a science classroom:
-eye wash station
-first aid kit
-test tube, test tube rack, and pipette
This resource also includes a student handout with questions that correspond to each QR code as well as an answer key.
In addition to reviewing students about proper lab safety precautions, this activity also includes stations in which students must review proper measurement techniques. This is a great activity to use during the first week of school in order to review students over lab safety without having them watch the same old lab safety video.
I hope this resource will help your students get excited about a fun year of exploring the world of science!
