This resource contains 16 different scenes(16 black and white and 16 color) with labels to match the pictures. Use these to help your English language learners get ready for the writing portion of the ELPAC. On this assessment, the students need to be able to label a picture using the beginning sounds of words or spelling cvc words.
If you would like practice ELPAC questions to prepare your kindergarteners for the writing part of the assessment, see my other resource:
These scenes and labels can be used in small ELD groups with the teacher, in partner groups, or in centers depending on your group of students and their levels.
If you want to use as a small group, partner or center activity, cut out and laminate the labels. Point to each object in the pictures and have the students listen for the first sound, last sound, or middle sounds depending on their levels. Have them match the words on the labels to the pictures in the scenes. They can do this with you or in a center.
If you want each scene and its labels to be a one time practice, then the black and white scenes are probably the scenes you want to use. You can give each student his/her own scene and labels. They can cut out each label and glue it near the picture in the scene. This can also be done in a small group ELD group with the teacher or in a center with heterogeneous groupings.
This resource can also help you ELLs learn a variety of vocabulary in English.
I hope you find this resource helpful in getting your students used to labeling and ready to rock the ELPAC!
