*This activity is designed to address students’ fluency in communicating Geometric ideas, avoiding future confusion. There are altogether 42 situations available to practice. First 21 are focused on interpreting Geometry Vocabulary into Diagrams. The other 21 are focused on decoding Diagrams into appropriate Symbolic representation, and corresponding Vocabulary.
Importance of appropriate labeling for effective communication is emphasized throughout this practice. Provided Answer key also suggests some thought-provoking questions.
This activity enables students to work cooperatively.
*Questions include practice with:
- line,segment,ray,angle, congruent, perpendicular bisector;
- intersection vs. bisection;
- intersection vs. perpendicular vs. parallel;
- midpoint vs. betweenness;
- bisect vs. is bisected by vs. bisect each other;
- parts of angle vs. half angle vs. whole angle;
