Product Description
Are you trying to encourage acceptance and tolerance in your classroom?

This lesson and activity is a fun way to discuss difficult topics, such as negative labels. Students are able to work together to discuss the effects of negative labels and how labels have changed overtime.

Within this lesson, students are able to re-create a piece of art by a Deaf artist, that will show how labels or "names" for something have improved overtime. (In the example provided, labels of the deaf community are shown. The artwork depicts how labels of the deaf have changed and improved over the course of a century).

NOTE: The activity does not have to revolve around deaf labels and can be adapted to fit the needs of your classroom.
