This set includes three card types for a variety of laboratory equipment commonly encountered in the High School Science laboratory. The set includes a photograph or diagram of a range of equipment, a name card, as well as a functional descriptor card. The activity can be used as a pretest of equipment knowledge before a laboratory program, or, as a revision activity toward a test of sight recognition and functional knowledge of a range of equipment. Suggestions for use in the class are included in the card pack, although this is not exhaustive. The PDF sheets can be printed on different colour paper for each card type and then laminated for durability. It is advised that the photograph and diagram sheets be printed on white paper to maintain image quality. I have used this activity as a minilesson within a larger lesson with scientific drawing as the overall learning focus for the session, as well as for fluency of naming and knowledge of equipment function. Please note that the photo thumbnail of assembled cards shows a very limited number of the cards for promotional purposes. Have fun!
