This activity includes 22 pages of the legendary myth "Labors of Hercules." This format is very reader friendly compared to alternate versions of the myth . The first part of this myth includes 20 questions for students to respond to while reading to ensure comprehension--the second part of the myth asks students to use active reading skills such as making predictions, summarizing, and identifying unfamiliar words.
After reading, students are asked to identify a character trait that helps Hercules conquer his quest--they are then asked to identify textual evidence to support the trait and explain their text evidence.
All around, this reading activity focuses heavily on key reading concepts required to meet Common Core State Standards.
