Audio cues appear on each slide to help draw and keep students’ focus directed on the activity.
A triple addend addition problem is presented onscreen, and students are prompted to determine which two addends make ten.
The item's "ten combo" is marked by two large animated spots that appear, highlighting the numbers.
Students are encouraged to add the remaining number to the ten to make a teen number.
You will use this activity many times with your class. Finding combinations of ten is a critical component for building number sense, and is emphasized in the Common Core.
