This cute game is easy to play and requires little prep. Simply print, gather some playing pieces and a die and you are all set. This makes a nice review game for students just about ready to move on from closed syllables.
You will roll a die, place a chip on the corresponding ladybug and read a word from the numbered lists. The winner is the first player to get one of his/her chips on each ladybug.
The numbered lists contain single sounds (1) and closed syllable words. If you roll a 2 you read a two letter word, a 3 a three letter word and so forth. The number 6 list contains many two closed syllable words.
This works well in a Orton Gillingham style program.
