In these four centers, students "research" aspects of Lakota Sioux culture by reading a provided "article" (1-4 paragraphs) and recording the important information on a report sheet. This activity can be done in one long class (90+ minutes) where groups rotate to all centers, or it can be split up into 2 or more class periods, depending on class length and student ability level. I used this activity in a 2nd grade classroom, and it took 2 45-minute class periods. It could easily be used in 3rd or 4th grade as well.
Used with 2nd grade Virginia state Social Studies Standards.
