Lamb to the Slaughter Anticipatory Murder Mystery Activity

Lamb to the Slaughter Anticipatory Murder Mystery Activity
Product Description
This activity will engage your students by requiring them to think like detectives!

Oriented around the Roald Dahl story, Lamb to the Slaughter, students will have a series of witness statements and crime scene evaluations to read through before answering, "who killed Patrick Maloney?"

Your students will practice the key skills of communication, collaboration, and critical thinking as they work together to determine the perpetrator, motive, and murder weapon. This activity can easily be scaled down by required students to answer fewer questions or by adding additional evidence to the pre-made documents. It can also be scaled up by removing witness statements, adding decoys using the blank witness statement template, and/or requiring students to answer more questions regarding the circumstances of Patrick Maloney's death.

Students will be invested in the story before you even begin reading. Lamb to the Slaughter is a perfect text for teaching suspense and irony as well.
